Triacontanol 0.05% GR:
Triacontanol 0.05% GR is a naturally occurring plant growth regulator (PGR) formulated as Granules (GR). It contains Triacontanol, a saturated long-chain fatty alcohol found in natural plant waxes. This potent metabolic activator is designed to increase the physiological efficiency of plant cells. By stimulating the plant's natural metabolism, it promotes vigorous growth, enhances photosynthesis, and significantly improves crop yield and quality. Being a granular formulation, it is easy to apply and provides a slow, sustained release of the active ingredient to the root zone.
Mode of Action:
Triacontanol 0.05% GR acts as a metabolic activator and photosensitizer:
Photosynthesis Enhancement: It increases the chlorophyll content in leaves, which boosts the rate of photosynthesis. This leads to greater production of sugars and energy for the plant.
Cell Division and Elongation: It stimulates rapid cell division and elongation, particularly in the root system, resulting in a more extensive and deeper root network.
Nutrient Uptake: By improving the permeability of cell membranes, it enhances the absorption and translocation of water and essential nutrients (like Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potassium) from the soil.
Primary Uses and Target Crops:
This plant growth regulator is used in a wide variety of crops to boost overall health, yield, and quality.
Key target crops include:
Field Crops: Rice (Paddy), Wheat, Cotton, Sugarcane, Groundnut, Soybean
Vegetables: Tomato, Chili, Potato, Brinjal, Okra, Cabbage
Fruits: Banana, Mango, Citrus, Pomegranate, Grapes
Flowers: Roses, Marigolds, Jasmine
Application and Dosage:
Triacontanol 0.05% GR is applied directly to the soil by broadcasting. It is best applied when the soil has sufficient moisture.
The recommended dosage varies slightly by crop but generally follows these guidelines:
Rice (Paddy): Apply 5 kg to 10 kg per acre. Best applied 15–25 days after transplanting.
Cotton & Chillies: Use 5 kg to 10 kg per acre. Apply during the early vegetative stage or before flowering.
Sugarcane: Apply 5 kg to 10 kg per acre during the tillering phase.
Vegetables (Tomato/Potato): Use 5 kg to 10 kg per acre.
General Method: Broadcast the granules uniformly over the field. It can be mixed with sand or fertilizers (like Urea or DAP) for easier distribution. Ensure the soil is moist at the time of application to activate the granules.
Target Benefits:
Unlike pesticides that kill pests, this product directly benefits plant physiology.
Key benefits include:
Yield Increase: Significantly increases the number of tillers, flowers, and fruits, leading to higher overall yields.
Root Development: Promotes a strong and deep root system, improving drought resistance and nutrient anchorage.
Quality: Improves the size, color, weight, and luster of the produce.
Flower Retention: Reduces flower and fruit drop.
Stress Tolerance: Helps the plant withstand environmental stresses like drought and salinity.
Safety Precautions:
While it is a plant growth regulator and generally less toxic than insecticides, standard safety practices should be followed.
Key safety recommendations include:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear protective gloves and a mask during broadcasting to avoid inhalation of dust and skin contact.
Handling Practices: Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product. Wash hands and face thoroughly with soap and water after application.
Environmental Safety: Avoid contamination of water sources. Do not reuse the empty container for storing food or water.
Storage:
Store the product in its original container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, food, and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
