Azoxystrobin 16.7% + Tricyclazole 33.3% SC:
Azoxystrobin 16.7% + Tricyclazole 33.3% SC is a premium, broad-spectrum systemic fungicide formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC). It is a highly specialized dual-action product designed primarily for Rice (Paddy) crops to provide complete protection against complex fungal diseases. By combining a strobilurin fungicide (Azoxystrobin) with a specialized blast-controlling active ingredient (Tricyclazole), this formulation offers both preventive and curative action. It not only controls disease but also helps in improving grain quality and yield by keeping the flag leaf green and healthy for a longer duration.
Mode of Action:
This product functions through a powerful synergistic mechanism:
Energy Inhibition (Azoxystrobin): It works by inhibiting mitochondrial respiration in the fungal cells (QoI inhibitor). This stops the energy production (ATP) of the fungus, preventing spore germination and mycelial growth.
Penetration Blockage (Tricyclazole): It acts as a Melanin Biosynthesis Inhibitor (MBI). It specifically prevents the fungus from producing melanin, which is essential for the hardening of the appressorium (the fungal structure used to punch through the leaf surface). Without melanin, the fungus cannot mechanically penetrate the plant leaf, effectively stopping the infection before it starts.
Systemic Action: The formulation is rapidly absorbed by the plant and translocated systemically (acropetally), ensuring protection of new growth.
Primary Uses and Target Crops:
This fungicide is the "Gold Standard" combination for managing fungal diseases in Rice (Paddy).
Key target crop:
Cereals: Rice (Paddy)
Application and Dosage:
Azoxystrobin 16.7% + Tricyclazole 33.3% SC is mixed with water and applied as a foliar spray. It is recommended to apply preventively or at the early appearance of disease symptoms.
The recommended dosage is:
Rice (Paddy): To control Blast and Sheath Blight, use 200 ml per acre.
Method: Mix 1 ml to 1.5 ml per liter of water. For a standard 15-liter spray pump, use 20 to 25 ml. Ensure uniform coverage of the crop, especially the panicles and lower leaves.
Timing: Best results are seen when applied at the booting to heading stage or when environmental conditions favor disease development (high humidity and cloudy weather).
Target Diseases:
This combination is highly effective against the most destructive diseases of rice.
Commonly controlled diseases include:
Rice Blast (Leaf Blast, Neck Blast, Node Blast)
Sheath Blight (Rhizoctonia solani)
False Smut
Grain Discoloration (Glume discoloration)
Brown Leaf Spot
Safety Precautions:
Strict adherence to safety precautions is essential. This product is toxic to aquatic life.
Key safety recommendations include:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear protective clothing, rubber gloves, boots, and a face mask/goggles during mixing and spraying.
Avoid Contact: Avoid inhalation of spray mist and contact with skin and eyes. Wash splashes immediately with soap and water.
Handling Practices: Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using the product. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after use.
Environmental Safety: This product is toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. Do not apply directly to water bodies used for aquaculture or allow runoff into fish ponds.
