Dinotefuran 15% + Pymetrozine 45% WG:
Dinotefuran 15% + Pymetrozine 45% WG is a premium, broad-spectrum pre-mix insecticide formulated as Water Dispersible Granules (WG). It is specifically designed to manage complex populations of sucking pests, particularly the hopper complex in Rice (Paddy). This combination offers a powerful "Dual Mode of Action" by blending the rapid knockdown effect of Dinotefuran with the immediate feeding cessation property of Pymetrozine. It is highly systemic and possesses translaminar activity, ensuring it reaches pests hiding at the base of the plant and on the underside of leaves.
Mode of Action:
This product functions through a synergistic double mechanism that attacks the pest's nervous and feeding systems:
Nerve Overstimulation (Dinotefuran): A third-generation neonicotinoid that acts as an agonist to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR). It causes continuous nerve excitation, tremors, and rapid paralysis, leading to a quick "knockdown" of the pest.
Feeding Cessation (Pymetrozine): Belonging to the pyridine azomethine group, it causes immediate "stylet paralysis." Upon contact or ingestion, the pest permanently stops feeding within minutes. This prevents crop damage almost instantly and leads to the pest's death by starvation.
Reproductive Suppression: It significantly reduces the egg-laying capacity of surviving female hoppers, effectively curbing the resurgence of the pest population.
Primary Uses and Target Crops:
This insecticide is the "Gold Standard" solution for Rice farmers facing hopper infestations, but it is also effective in other crops.
Key target crops include:
Cereals: Rice (Paddy) - Major Focus
Vegetables: Tomato, Chili, Okra, Cucurbits
Fiber Crops: Cotton
Application and Dosage:
Dinotefuran 15% + Pymetrozine 45% WG is mixed with water and applied as a foliar spray.
The recommended dosage varies by crop:
Rice (Paddy): To control Brown Plant Hopper (BPH), White Backed Plant Hopper (WBPH), and Green Leaf Hopper (GLH), use 133.2 grams per acre.
Cotton: For Aphids, Jassids, and Whiteflies, use 133 to 150 grams per acre.
Vegetables: For Whiteflies and Aphids, use 133 grams per acre.
Method: Dissolve the granules completely in water. For Rice, direct the spray toward the base of the plant clumps where hoppers reside.
General Mixing Rate: A common mixing rate is 0.9 to 1 gram per liter of water.
Target Pests:
This combination is highly specialized for sucking pests, particularly those that have developed resistance to single-molecule insecticides.
Commonly controlled pests include:
Brown Plant Hopper (BPH)
White Backed Plant Hopper (WBPH)
Green Leaf Hopper (GLH)
Rice Ear Head Bug (Gundhi Bug)
Whiteflies
Aphids
Jassids
Safety Precautions:
Strict adherence to safety precautions is essential. This product is toxic to bees and aquatic life.
Key safety recommendations include:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear protective clothing, rubber gloves, boots, and a face mask/goggles during mixing and spraying.
Bee Safety: Do not apply when honeybees are actively foraging (flowering stage), as the neonicotinoid component is toxic to pollinators.
Handling Practices: Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using the product. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after use.
Environmental Safety: Do not contaminate water bodies, ponds, or irrigation ditches.
Storage:
Store the product in its original container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, food, and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
