Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC:

Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC is a broad-spectrum, combination insecticide formulated as a ZC (Mixture of Capsule Suspension and Suspension Concentrate). This advanced formulation technology combines the systemic power of Thiamethoxam with the contact and knockdown power of Lambda-Cyhalothrin. It provides excellent control over a wide range of biting, chewing, and sucking pests in various crops. The unique ZC formulation ensures safer handling and prolonged residual activity, protecting the crop for a longer duration against mixed pest infestations.

Mode of Action:

This product features a powerful synergistic double mode of action:

  1. Systemic Action (Thiamethoxam): A neonicotinoid that is rapidly absorbed by the plant and transported systemically. It acts on the insect's central nervous system (nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist), causing paralysis and death in sucking pests hidden on the plant.

  2. Contact & Stomach Action (Lambda-Cyhalothrin): A synthetic pyrethroid that acts by disrupting the gating of sodium channels in the insect's nerve cells. It provides a rapid "knockdown" effect upon contact or ingestion, effectively controlling caterpillars and mobile pests.

  3. ZC Technology: The micro-encapsulation protects the active ingredient from UV breakdown and ensures a controlled release, providing longer-lasting protection.

Primary Uses and Target Crops:

This insecticide is a preferred "all-in-one" solution for crops plagued by both sucking pests and caterpillars/borers simultaneously.

Key target crops include:

  • Fiber Crops: Cotton

  • Cereals: Maize

  • Legumes/Oilseeds: Groundnut, Soybean

  • Vegetables: Tomato, Chili, Brinjal (Eggplant)

  • Plantations: Tea

Application and Dosage:

Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda-Cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC is mixed with water and applied as a foliar spray.

The recommended dosage varies by crop:

  • Cotton: To control Jassids, Aphids, Thrips, and Bollworms, use 80 ml per acre.

  • Maize: For Stem Borer and Shoot Fly, use 50 to 60 ml per acre.

  • Groundnut: To control Leaf Miner, Thrips, and Jassids, use 50 to 60 ml per acre.

  • Tea: For Tea Mosquito Bug and Thrips, use 60 ml per acre.

  • Tomato/Chili: For Fruit Borer, Thrips, and Aphids, use 60 to 80 ml per acre.

  • General Mixing Rate: A common mixing rate is 0.4 ml to 0.5 ml per liter of water. Ensure thorough coverage of the foliage.

Target Pests:

This combination controls a vast spectrum of pests (Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera).

Commonly controlled pests include:

  • Sucking Pests: Aphids, Jassids, Thrips, Whiteflies, Tea Mosquito Bug, Leaf Hoppers.

  • Chewing/Boring Pests: Bollworms (Spotted, American, Pink), Fruit Borers, Stem Borers, Shoot Flies, Leaf Miners, Caterpillars, Semiloopers.

Safety Precautions:

Strict adherence to safety precautions is essential. This product is toxic to bees and aquatic life.

Key safety recommendations include:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear protective clothing, rubber gloves, boots, and a face mask/goggles. The pyrethroid component can cause temporary skin sensation (itching/burning), so avoid direct skin contact.

  • Bee Safety: Do not apply when honeybees are actively foraging (blooming period), as both active ingredients are toxic to pollinators.

  • Handling Practices: Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using the product. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after use.

  • Environmental Safety: This product is extremely toxic to fish. Do not apply near water bodies or clean equipment in ponds/streams.

Storage:

Store the product in its original container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, food, and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
