Tebuconazole 10% + Sulphur 65% WG:

Tebuconazole 10% + Sulphur 65% WG is a unique, broad-spectrum, pre-mix fungicide and miticide formulated as Water Dispersible Granules (WG). It combines the systemic action of Tebuconazole (a triazole) with the contact action of Sulphur. This formulation is widely recognized for its "Triple Action" capability: it acts as an effective fungicide, a miticide (controlling mites), and a plant nutrient (providing Sulphur). It is particularly effective against Powdery Mildew and Leaf Spot diseases while simultaneously managing mite populations and correcting sulphur deficiencies in the crop.

Mode of Action:

This product functions through a synergistic dual mode of action:

  1. Systemic Inhibition (Tebuconazole): Tebuconazole is absorbed by the plant and translocated via the xylem. It works as a Demethylation Inhibitor (DMI), interfering with the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of the fungal cell wall. This halts fungal growth and reproduction.

  2. Contact & Multi-Site Action (Sulphur): Sulphur acts on the plant surface as a contact fungicide and acaricide. It disrupts the fungal respiratory chain through multi-site action, preventing spore germination. Additionally, sulphur vapors are toxic to mites, providing effective control against them.

Primary Uses and Target Crops:

This product is extensively used in crops that are susceptible to both fungal diseases (like Powdery Mildew) and mite infestations.

Key target crops include:

  • Vegetables: Chili, Tomato, Brinjal (Eggplant), Okra, Capsicum

  • Legumes/Oilseeds: Soybean, Groundnut, Gram (Chickpea), Black Gram

  • Fruits: Mango, Grapes, Watermelon

  • Cereals: Wheat

Application and Dosage:

Tebuconazole 10% + Sulphur 65% WG is mixed with water and applied as a foliar spray. It dissolves rapidly and provides a dust-free application experience.

The recommended dosage varies by crop:

  • Chili: To control Powdery Mildew, Fruit Rot (Anthracnose), and Mites, use 500 grams per acre.

  • Soybean: For Leaf Spot, Pod Blight, and Powdery Mildew, use 500 grams per acre.

  • Mango: To control Powdery Mildew and Anthracnose, dissolve 2 to 2.5 grams per liter of water.

  • Groundnut: For Tikka Leaf Spot and Rust, use 500 grams per acre.

  • General Mixing Rate: A common mixing rate is 2 to 2.5 grams per liter of water. Ensure thorough coverage of the foliage, particularly for mite control.

Target Diseases and Pests:

This product offers comprehensive protection against a specific complex of diseases and pests.

Commonly controlled problems include:

  • Diseases:

    • Powdery Mildew (Highly effective)

    • Leaf Spot (Cercospora, Tikka)

    • Anthracnose / Fruit Rot

    • Pod Blight

    • Rust

  • Pests:

    • Mites (Red Spider Mite, Yellow Mite)

  • Nutrition:

    • Corrects Sulphur Deficiency (yellowing of younger leaves).

Safety Precautions:

Strict adherence to safety precautions is essential.

Key safety recommendations include:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear protective clothing, gloves, goggles, and a mask during mixing and spraying.

  • Temperature Sensitivity: Sulphur can cause scorching (burning) on leaves if applied during high temperatures. Avoid spraying when the temperature exceeds 30°C–35°C. Spray in the early morning or late evening.

  • Handling Practices: Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using the product. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly after use.

  • Environmental Safety: This product is toxic to fish and aquatic organisms. Do not apply directly to water bodies.

Storage:

Store the product in its original container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, food, and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
