Zinc Oxide Suspension Concentrate (39.5% Zn):
Zinc Oxide Suspension Concentrate (39.5% Zn) is a high-performance, high-concentration liquid micronutrient fertilizer formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC). It contains 39.5% Zinc in a highly stable, flowable form. Unlike traditional zinc sulphate powders, this formulation features extremely fine particle sizes, ensuring uniform coverage, superior adhesion to the leaf surface, and rapid absorption by the plant. It is specifically designed to correct severe zinc deficiencies that cause stunted growth, leaf yellowing, and reduced yields.
Mode of Action:
Zinc Oxide Suspension Concentrate functions as a physiological activator and growth regulator:
Auxin Synthesis: Zinc is the critical catalyst for the synthesis of Tryptophan, a precursor to Indole Acetic Acid (IAA) or Auxin. Auxins are the hormones responsible for stem elongation and height growth.
Enzyme Activation: It activates over 300 enzymes responsible for carbohydrate metabolism, protein synthesis, and chlorophyll production.
Particle Efficiency: The SC formulation provides a sustained release of zinc. The sub-micron particles stick to the leaves (rain-fastness) and are absorbed through the stomata and cuticle over time, providing a long-lasting feeding effect.
Primary Uses and Target Crops:
This product is essential for crops grown in zinc-deficient soils (common in India) and high-yield varieties that demand high zinc levels.
Key target crops include:
Cereals: Rice (Paddy), Maize, Wheat
Fruits: Citrus, Apple, Guava, Mango, Pomegranate
Vegetables: Tomato, Chili, Potato, Onion
Cash Crops: Cotton, Sugarcane
Legumes: Soybean, Groundnut
Application and Dosage:
Zinc Oxide Suspension Concentrate (39.5% Zn) is primarily used as a Foliar Spray but can also be used for Seed Treatment.
The recommended dosage varies by crop stage:
Foliar Spray: Mix 1 ml to 1.5 ml per liter of water.
Rice (Paddy): Apply 15–20 days after transplanting to prevent "Khaira" disease. Repeat if necessary.
Maize: Apply at the knee-high stage.
Fruits: Apply on new flush or active growth stages.
Seed Treatment: Mix 3 to 5 ml per kg of seeds. Coat the seeds uniformly and shade dry before sowing. This ensures early root vigor.
General Acre Dose: Use 200 to 250 ml per acre in 150–200 liters of water.
Note: Shake the bottle well before use to ensure the suspension is uniform.
Target Benefits / Deficiency Correction:
This product specifically targets zinc deficiency symptoms.
Key benefits include:
Khaira Disease: Effectively prevents and cures Khaira disease (reddish-brown spots) in Rice.
White Bud: Corrects White Bud in Maize.
Little Leaf: Cures Little Leaf (rosetting) and mottle leaf in Citrus, Mango, and Apple.
Growth Booster: Eliminates stunted growth and short internodes, leading to taller, healthier plants.
Yield: Improves tillering in paddy and grain filling in cereals.
Safety Precautions:
Standard safety practices for agrochemicals should be followed.
Key safety recommendations include:
Compatibility Warning: Avoid mixing with fertilizers containing Phosphorus (like DAP or NPK 12:61:0) in the same tank, as Zinc and Phosphorus can react to form insoluble precipitates, reducing the efficacy of both.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear gloves and goggles during mixing and spraying.
Handling Practices: Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product.
Environmental Safety: Do not contaminate water bodies.
Storage:
Store the product in its original container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. SC formulations can settle over time, so store upright. Keep away from direct sunlight, food, and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children.
