Boron Ethanolamine 10%:
Boron Ethanolamine 10% is a premium, liquid micronutrient fertilizer containing 10% Boron complexed with Ethanolamine. Unlike conventional powder boron (Borax/Disodium Octaborate), this liquid formulation is highly stable, fully water-soluble, and designed for rapid absorption by plant foliage. The ethanolamine complex acts as a chelating agent, significantly improving the uptake and translocation of Boron within the plant tissues. It is specifically developed to prevent and correct boron deficiencies that lead to flower drop, poor fruit setting, and structural deformities in crops.
Mode of Action:
Boron Ethanolamine 10% functions as a vital physiological regulator and structural component:
Enhanced Translocation: The ethanolamine complex ensures that Boron penetrates the waxy leaf cuticle easily and moves effectively through the phloem to the growing points (meristems), flowers, and fruits.
Cell Wall Strength: Boron is essential for the synthesis of pectin and lignin, which provide structural integrity to cell walls. This prevents tissue breakdown (hollow heart) and fruit cracking.
Reproductive Success: It plays a critical role in pollen tube elongation and pollen germination, which are directly responsible for successful fertilization and fruit set.
Sugar Transport: It facilitates the transport of sugars and carbohydrates from the leaves to the storage organs (fruits, tubers, seeds), improving the size and sweetness of the produce.
Primary Uses and Target Crops:
This fertilizer is essential for crops with high boron requirements, particularly those prone to fruit cracking and poor pollination.
Key target crops include:
Fruits: Apple, Grapes, Pomegranate, Mango, Citrus, Papaya, Watermelon
Vegetables: Tomato, Cauliflower, Cabbage, Broccoli, Potato, Carrot, Beetroot
Commercial Crops: Cotton, Sugarbeet, Sugarcane
Oilseeds & Legumes: Sunflower, Groundnut, Soybean
Application and Dosage:
Boron Ethanolamine 10% is suitable for Foliar Spray and Fertigation (Drip Irrigation).
The recommended dosage varies by crop stage (typically applied at pre-flowering and fruit-setting stages):
Foliar Spray: Dissolve 1 to 2 ml per liter of water.
Fruit Crops: Apply just before flowering and again at the fruit-setting stage.
Vegetables: Apply during the active vegetative growth and head formation stages.
Fertigation (Drip): Apply 500 ml to 1 liter per acre. This ensures the nutrient reaches the root zone for systemic uptake.
General Mixing Rate: A standard foliar dose is 200 to 250 ml per acre in sufficient water.
Target Benefits / Deficiency Correction:
This product targets specific physiological disorders caused by boron deficiency.
Key benefits include:
Prevents Cracking: Eliminates fruit cracking in pomegranate, citrus, and tomato.
Improves Pollination: drastically reduces flower drop and improves fruit setting.
Prevents Hollow Heart: Corrects hollow heart in cauliflower and internal browning in turnips/beets.
Quality: Enhances the shine, color, and sugar content (Brix) of fruits.
Nutrient Transport: improves the efficiency of calcium uptake and sugar movement within the plant.
Safety Precautions:
Standard safety practices for chemical fertilizers should be followed.
Key safety recommendations include:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear gloves and safety goggles when handling the concentrate to avoid skin and eye irritation.
Dosage Caution: Boron has a narrow range between deficiency and toxicity. Do not overdose. Strictly follow the recommended dose.
Mixing: Compatible with most agrochemicals, but a compatibility test is recommended before mixing with heavy metal sulfates.
Handling Practices: Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not eat, drink, or smoke while handling the product.
Storage:
Store the product in its original container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place. Keep the bottle tightly capped when not in use. Keep away from direct sunlight, food, and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children.
