Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP:

Carbendazim 12% + Mancozeb 63% WP is a broad-spectrum, dual-action fungicide formulated as a Wettable Powder (WP). It combines a systemic fungicide (Carbendazim) with a contact fungicide (Mancozeb) to provide powerful preventive and curative control against a wide range of fungal diseases. This combination is highly effective in managing diseases that have developed resistance to single-chemical formulations and ensures comprehensive protection by working from both the outside and inside of the plant.

Mode of Action:

This product functions through a unique dual mode of action:

  1. Systemic Action (Carbendazim): It is absorbed by the plant's roots and leaves and translocated through the xylem. It works by inhibiting the development of the fungal germ tube and blocking cell division (mitosis) in the pathogen.

  2. Contact Action (Mancozeb): It remains on the plant surface and acts as a protective shield. It inhibits enzyme activity within the fungal cell, preventing spore germination and blocking the respiration of the fungus upon contact.

Primary Uses and Target Crops:

This fungicide is used to protect a wide variety of field crops, fruits, and vegetables from devastating fungal infections.

Key target crops include:

  • Field Crops: Rice (Paddy), Groundnut, Cotton, Soybean, Wheat

  • Vegetables: Potato, Tomato, Chili, Brinjal, Cabbage, Cauliflower

  • Fruits: Mango, Grapes, Citrus, Apple

  • Plantation Crops: Tea, Coffee

Application and Dosage:

The recommended dosage varies depending on the crop and severity of the disease:

  • Rice (Paddy): For Blast and Sheath Blight, a dosage of 300–400 grams per acre is recommended.

  • Groundnut: To control Tikka Leaf Spot and Rust, use 200–250 grams per acre.

  • Potato/Tomato: For Early and Late Blight, a dosage of 300–400 grams per acre is effective.

  • Seed Treatment: Mix 2.5 grams per kg of seeds to control seed-borne diseases like Collar Rot and Root Rot.

  • General Application: A common mixing rate is 1.5 to 2 grams per liter of water. Ensure the powder is thoroughly dissolved before spraying.
