Chlorantraniliprole 4.3% + Abamectin 1.7% SC:
Chlorantraniliprole 4.3% + Abamectin 1.7% SC is a premium, dual-action broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide formulated as a Suspension Concentrate (SC). This powerful combination blends the muscle-paralyzing action of Chlorantraniliprole with the nerve-disrupting power of Abamectin. It is specifically designed to provide complete protection against complex pest populations, including hard-to-control Lepidopteran larvae (borers/caterpillars) and sucking pests like Mites and Thrips.[2] Its "translaminar" activity allows it to penetrate leaf tissues to kill pests hiding on the underside of leaves, while its systemic action ensures long-lasting residual control.
Mode of Action:
This product features a synergistic double mode of action:
Ryanodine Receptor Modulation (Chlorantraniliprole): It binds to the ryanodine receptors in the insect's muscles, causing an uncontrolled release of stored calcium. This leads to rapid muscle paralysis, immediate cessation of feeding, and death.
Chloride Channel Activation (Abamectin): It acts on the nervous system by stimulating the release of GABA and binding to chloride channels. This disrupts nerve signal transmission, causing paralysis and death in mites and sucking pests.
Primary Uses and Target Crops:
This insecticide is a preferred solution for crops plagued by "poly-phagous" pests (pests that feed on multiple parts of the plant) and mite infestations.
Key target crops include:
Vegetables: Chili, Tomato, Brinjal (Eggplant), Okra, Capsicum
Fiber Crops: Cotton
Pulses: Red Gram (Pigeon Pea), Bengal Gram
Fruits: Watermelon, Grapes, Pomegranate
Application and Dosage:
Chlorantraniliprole 4.3% + Abamectin 1.7% SC is mixed with water and applied as a foliar spray. Thorough coverage of the plant canopy is essential.
The recommended dosage varies by crop and pest pressure:
Chili: To control Fruit Borer, Thrips, and Mites (Yellow/Red), use 200 to 250 ml per acre.
Tomato: For Fruit Borer, Leaf Miner, and Red Spider Mite, use 200 to 250 ml per acre.
Cotton: For Bollworms and Mites, use 200 to 250 ml per acre.
General Mixing Rate: A common mixing rate is 1.25 ml to 1.5 ml per liter of water.
Method: Ensure the spray solution reaches the undersides of leaves where mites and thrips often reside.
Target Pests:
This combination controls a wide spectrum of chewing and sucking pests.
Commonly controlled pests include:
Fruit Borers (Helicoverpa armigera)
Mites (Red Spider Mite, Yellow Mite, Two-spotted Spider Mite)
Thrips
Leaf Miners (Liriomyza trifolii)
Diamondback Moth (DBM)
Spotted Bollworm
Pod Borers
Safety Precautions:
Strict adherence to safety precautions is essential. This product is toxic to bees and aquatic life.
Key safety recommendations include:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear protective clothing, rubber gloves, boots, and a face mask/goggles. Abamectin can be irritating to the skin, so avoid direct contact.
Bee Safety: Do not apply when honeybees are actively foraging (blooming period), as the product is toxic to pollinators.
Handling Practices: Do not eat, drink, or smoke when using the product. Wash hands and exposed skin thoroughly with soap and water after use.
Environmental Safety: This product is highly toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates. Do not apply directly to water bodies or clean equipment near streams or ponds.
Storage:
Store the product in its original container in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, moisture, food, and animal feed. Keep out of reach of children and uninformed persons.
